The T2 chip is used in all Apple computers launched in the last two years. According to the Belgian company ironPeak, it has a security gap that exposes all devices equipped with it to hacking attacks.

According to IronPeak, the vulnerability is due to an oversight by Apple and it is not possible to fix it with software updates. Theoretically, it allows to modify the operation of the operating system by adding and activating extensions without the user's knowledge. However, it requires physical access to the computer. A detailed description of the vulnerability detected by ironPeak can be found on the official company blog.

The vulnerability explorer claims to have tried to contact Apple five times since August 2020 to notify them of security problems, but has not received any response. For this reason, he decided to make this information public in order to warn users of the potential danger.
