One of the most important novelties that were to appear in iOS 14 was the privacy features to protect against applications that track user activity to offer personalized ads. Eventually, they did not appear in the release version of the system, but Apple announced that it will introduce them in 2021. Mark Zuckerberg, who has been one of the most widely criticized of these changes from the beginning, has recently accused Apple of damaging the global economy by introducing such blockades.

During the recent investor meeting, the president of Facebook decided to discuss the new security measures planned by Apple. In his opinion, they will harm the most small companies that may not be able to reach their customers without advertising. He also believes that in a broader perspective this may prove to be a serious blow to the global economy, making it more difficult for it to recover from the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In Zuckerberg's opinion, instead of striving for a complete blockade of personalized advertisements, it would be better to develop new legal regulations concerning the care of data and privacy of users.

Although Zuckerberg is now trying to create a defender for small businesses, it is hard not to notice that his opposition to Apple's actions is mainly dictated by the protection of Facebook's interests, which would also suffer greatly after the introduction of new safeguards in iOS. The Audience Network advertising network belonging to him would suffer the most. A few months ago, Zuckerberg predicted that it could lose up to 50% of its revenue from iOS after the introduction of the new security measures.
