Apple has ordered two more seasons of the "Ted Lasso" series
The first season of the series "Ted Lasso" had its premiere on Apple TV+ on August 14th. It was so well received by viewers and critics that Apple decided to order two next seasons immediately.
"Ted Lasso" is a comedy series about an football coach from Kansas who moves to England to start a new career as a soccer coach even though he has no idea about the sport. It is an extension of a series of short sketches created several years ago for NBC Sports television. The series was created by Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, Brendan Hunt and Jason Sudeikis. The latter also plays the main role.
"Ted Lasso" is the first series in the history of Apple TV+ for which Apple decided to order two consecutive seasons immediately. Work on the next one is expected to start at the beginning of 2021. However, as this series is being shot in the UK, it may be delayed if the government there decides to extend the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the past, Apple had to stop working on three series shot in the UK - "Invasion", "Suspicion" and "Slow Horses".
