Apple has released a practically final version of the macOS Big Sur system. It has been described as build 20B5022a. There was also the last test version of the Xcode 12.2 development environment (build 12B5044c). Please note that these are the so-called Release Candidate versions (previously called Golden Master), which will soon reach all users.

Probably macOS 11.0.1 improves stability, performance and bugs that were detected by developers during previous beta tests.

In macOS Big Sur, users will be able to see, among other things, the changed look of the system, Apple Maps based on Catalyst, changes in Safari and improvements in Notification Center, news and support for 4K HDR resolution on YouTube. However, the common feature of all this year's systems - iOS/iPadOS, macOS - is increased privacy.

Beta is available for registered developers on the Apple Developer Center website and directly from the device level.

The official version of macOS 11 available for all is expected next week.
