"The Morning Show" is one of the most awarded (although, as it turned out recently, not the most popular) series produced for Apple TV+. Currently, work is underway on its second season. According to Deadline, Hasan Minhaj will join the cast.

Hasan Minhaj is a comedian known primarily for his performances in the satirical program "The Daily Show" (whose host, Jon Stewart, is currently working on a new program for Apple TV+) and his original talk-show "Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj". The role in "The Morning Show" will be his first performance in a high-budget drama series. He will play the role of Eric, a new charismatic TV presenter who is quickly advancing his career.

"The Morning Show" series is about the work of people creating the so-called breakfast TV. According to the original plans, the second season was to appear in the Apple TV+ catalog this fall, but work on it had to be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The scriptwriters used the delays to make changes to the plot of the series to better reflect the current situation in the world.
